What exactly is healing and how does it work? Healing is the offering of universal energy with the specific aim of restoring a state
of balance to the healee on all levels, physical, emotional, mental and
spiritual. The key is that healing should always be given as an offering of unconditional love,
with an approach of ‘thy will be done’.
It is not for the healer to determine what the client’s sprit needs or
desires, however they may use their skills to help the client to achieve their
own state of balance within any given circumstance. Healing can be of great value in a variety of different situations, as it allows the
client to regain their own sense of balance and harmony.
It is by assisting the client with the removal of blockages to their
energetic system and bringing their system back into balance that the healer is
able to help the client to achieve the changes they desire.
These changes can happen on every level of the clients system –
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. What qualifications do I need to attend this course? Attendance on
the Basic Practitioner and Diploma courses requires a Foundation level knowledge
in healing, however it is not a pre-requisite to complete the Colleges
Foundation Course. Attendance on to
our Summers School, Negative Energies, Supervision and Creative Development
Groups, requires completion of the College of Healing Diploma course. Will my religious beliefs get in the way? No. The College of Healing offers tuition which is non-denominational, and although there may be occasion when the teachings do conflict with your personal belief systems, the philosophy of the College and all of its tutors is to honour and respect the beliefs of others, rather than to try to change them. What is my attendance commitment and what have I to do, in order to fulfil the course requirements? Attendance commitments are dependant upon which course and route you choose to take, for example residential, or weekly at a Further Education College, please see dates and rates above or contact us for information on specific courses. Each course has individual criteria for gaining the specified accreditation. These typically include completion of comprehension essays, to show your understanding of the course material, written case studies of healing clients that you have seen and a personal self-development journal to be completed throughout the course. It is expected that for those individuals who wish to achieve the specified accreditation, that their level of home study is at least equivalent to their level of contact tuition time. At what level am I qualified to give healing to other people? There is currently no legal requirement for qualifications when giving healing to another. Nevertheless, the College of Healing within its own ethics believes that a Healer should have a degree of understanding and experience prior to setting up a healing clinic and has therefore divided the levels of healing within its courses as follows: Will I be able to cure illnesses and diseases? The aim of healing is to create a space of balance for the individual; this is not necessarily the same as ‘cure’. The side effects of this space of balance and healing may be cure from the illness or disease; alternatively there may be a new attitude within the individual on how to deal with their circumstance. The healer’s task is to use their skills to create the space for the individual to enable their own healing, rather as a physician would create the space for mending a broken leg by applying a plaster cast to the leg, but it is the individual’s own leg that heals itself. It may, for example, be the individual’s spiritual wish to experience the disease in full, and not to be ‘cured’ in the conventional sense, nevertheless, by giving healing, the healer may be able to affect a change in the mental, or emotional state of the client which allows them to deal better with their disease process. Healers should never impose their own will, be this for cure or any other area, onto the client. Can Healing be used together with other complementary therapies? Yes.
