How can I find a Healer to work with?

You can find one of our Healers in our Healer Directory. All of the College of Healing Practitioner Graduates who go on to be members of the COH community have gone through rigorous training, are fully qualified to practice Healing to the highest standards, and adhere to our Code of Conduct

What is spiritual and energy healing?

Spiritual and energy healing is a complementary approach that works with the body’s natural energy systems to support wellbeing. Practitioners aim to help restore balance and harmony within the individual by working with subtle energy fields, often through hands-on, hands-off, or distant healing methods.

Do I need previous experience to take a healing course?

No previous experience is required for the Foundation Course. It is designed for beginners who wish to explore self-healing, meditation and the basic principles of working with energy.

What is the difference between the Foundation Course and the Practitioner Course?

The Foundation Course is much shorter than the Practitioner Course. It runs over a total of 24 hours of contact time, offered in a selection of formats, including in person, online, in group or one-to one. It gives you the basic tools necessary to develop sufficient self-awareness to engage in working with healing energy, and gives you a structure for self-care, as well as introducing you to self-healing, distant-healing and contact-healing.

The Practitioner Course runs over 2 years and is taught face to face, in person, in group. After successful completion of the course and submission of case studies and assignments, you will be fully qualified to practice Healing on clients and become a Practitioner Member of the College of Healing Community where you can be listed in our Healer Directory. You will automatically become a member of UKHealers and the Confederation of Healing Organizations, which the COH is a member of. You will also be eligible to apply for membership of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

Can I practise healing professionally after completing the Practitioner Course?

Yes, After Completion of the Practitioner Course (which includes submission of case studies and assignments), you will be fully qualified to practice healing professionally.

What are Advanced Healing Modules?

Advanced Healing Modules allow qualified practitioners to deepen their understanding of specific areas of healing practice, such as working with complex energetic situations or exploring different healing techniques.

What is Continuing Professional Development (CPD)?

Our CPD courses allow practitioners to continue learning and developing their understanding of healing practice throughout their careers. They are suitable for practitioners of other modalities who are looking for some interesting workshops to build their own CPD credits. Many of our CPD offerings are also suitable for people who are interested in Healing, but who are not ready to commit to one of our training courses.

Is spiritual healing recognised alongside conventional healthcare?

Healing is considered a complementary practice, meaning it may be used alongside conventional medical treatment but does not replace professional medical care.

How long does it take to become a qualified healer?

The journey to becoming a qualified healer varies for each individual. Students begin with the Foundation Course before progressing to the Practitioner Course, which is typically completed over two years. With submission of assignments and case studies, this may take the total journey time to somewhere between 2-3 years. Your own healing journey is a very personal experience and, if you need more time, the College tutors will do their very best to support you through the process at your own pace.
